yummy
I am sitting here, in sweats and my “Little Miss Bossy” t-shirt, in day who knows what of the end of the semester grade-a-thon. I also have two things due (writing deadlines) on May 15th. Genius, that’s what that decision was. The house looks (again) like hell, I look like hell, and the sun is shining outside. Need to take Willa the Dancing Dog out for a walk and get my head straight — enough coffee and sunshine can set anything right.

WOW! What a coincidence…my TA (Teacher Assistant) bought me a t-shirt, just today, that says, “I’M BOSSY.” My paraprofessional calls me “bossy” all the time. I don’t mean to be. I guess it’s just my nature. HAHAHAHA!

There’s nothing wrong with being bossy, I am convinced. It just means we know what we want, or something like that : )

Hi Dr. D,
I was determined to not bug you about our grades. Meeting deadlines and mandates can be maddening sometimes and I totally understand being under pressure to do something in a given time. Heck! I go through it every Monday when lesson plans (Gosh, I hate writing those things) are due. So I waited patiently.
And today, while sitting under the hair dryer, I got a call from Randi Leifer (my buddy) telling me that the grades were in.
I really feel a sense of accomplishment and I thank you fo your zealousness. Please let us know, as soon as you know, about the course this summer. My wedding anniversary is August 21, and we usually go away. Hopefully, I won’t have to miss any classes. But I do need to know if it’s a go (relative to East Orange teachers), so if I have to make some changes in plans I can try to do it in a timely manner.
In any event - LOVED the class. Hope to see you in July.

Just want to clarify something about the upcoming summer course. Our district has just laid off over 300 people and I’m sure you’ve read about the goings on in the paper. I just want to make sure the district is actually going to pay for the course. It’s grant money so I’m hoping one thing has nothing to do with the other.
Perhaps Koree Knight is a better person to talk to about this What’s your thinking? Can you shed some light on the situation?
I am really excited about taking this course with you.

Am trying to get answers as I can — at a writing retreat right now, but hoping to hear more when I get back.
