you know it’s going to be a good day…
When you get stopped at a roadblock in your town, and you get into an argument with the cop about the purpose and legality of said roadblock…
Hello? Civil liberties? I guess I’m lucky I didn’t get to go to jail this morning instead of coming here to teach, but I have to say I worry more and more about the direction the courts are going in terms of protecting our rights. More on this later, I promise.

And double that if you’re African American. However, I must say, I thank God for favor, when after being pulled over by the police recently, I was let go because of my address. The police officer told me I was speeding, but he would let me go with a “warning” because “I don’t like giving tickets to residence.”
Our civil liberties are slowly but surely being stripped away under the guise of Homeland Security.

Sorry for mistake in my comment. I wrote r-e-s-i-d-e-n-c-e.
I should have written,: r-e-s-i-d-e-n-t-s.
Hate making mistakes like that. Always feel that because
I AM a teacher, I should not make grammatical errors.
I know that’s a fallacy. But still, I don’t like it!

Mornings like that seem to set the tone for a “crazy” day… I hope yours turned out great!!!!! Good thing you weren’t arrested… They always look to make their quotas… Darn those cops!!!

It’s just a bug in the system, Leslie. Nothing to worry about — your comments show up just fine.

Hey Dr. D,
One thing I like about this class, is the camaraderie with fellow classmates. Randi showed me what I was doing wrong on Blackboard and now things are copacetic.
